Hot water problem? If you have a combi boiler and are experiencing fluctuations in the temperature of your hot water, it is likely to be a faulty plate heat exchanger. The heat exchanger gets partially blocked, which causes the boiler to overheat and shut down for a few seconds, which is when you feel the hot water temperature reduce! Usually caused by sludge in the heating system, it’s a good idea to carry out a powerflush when changing the plate heat exchanger to prevent further problems occurring.
